Tim Brennan and Tim Green (the Tims) formed Direct Fitness Solutions (DFS) in 1998, after becoming seasoned professionals in the commercial sales division of a large fitness retailer. They had a founding principle of providing customers with quality fitness equipment, combined with an unparalleled commitment to service and support.
DFS was built on the core belief that the company’s success would be measured by the success of its customers. The Tims developed a simple, yet effective, strategy that began with listening. The better they understood a customer’s needs, the better they would be able to meet those needs.
Soon the company was expanding beyond its Illinois origins to neighboring states: Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee and Northern Ohio. DFS became the largest distributor and service provider for commercial fitness equipment in the Midwest.
